Dr. Randolph Hutter, General Cardiologist, Joins the Great Falls Hospital Heart Center Team

The Great Falls Hospital Heart Center is pleased to welcome Dr. Randolph Hutter, general, non-invasive cardiologist, to the team. Dr. Hutter is a highly experienced, board-certified cardiologist. He has provided exceptional care to patients across the globe for over 27 years and takes a special interest in caring for patients with heart disease.

Dr. Hutter grew up in Ludwigshafen, Rhineland- Palatinate, Germany. After experiencing the brutality of coronary disease at a young age, Dr. Hutter felt compelled to pursue a career helping others identify and treat heart failure.

He received his medical degree from Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany and completed his residency at Rheinische Fredrich-Wilhelms University Hospital in Bonn, Germany. Dr. Hutter was offered a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Cardiovascular Institute within Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, New York. After spending four years in the United States, Dr. Hutter decided to stay permanently as he continued his education at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine residency, a cardiology fellowship, and an interventional cardiology fellowship.

Dr. Hutter has treated patients in a variety of settings including large urban communities, small rural areas, and everything in between. He has found that practicing medicine in smaller communities such as those in Montana have been the most rewarding to him.

“What I like about being here is that you still can practice real medicine and make it more personalized,” Dr. Hutter shared. “As a physician you are completely dependent on the environment of care; the philosophy of Great Falls, or just Montana, has been more grounded and human oriented. It is quite different than the strict, turnover orientation of big cities. I really enjoy this kind of relationship building with the patients, and I get the opportunity to do that in this environment.”

In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Hutter is passionate about academics, research and clinical trials. Dr. Hutter has played a critical role in several research projects including that of the Principal Investigator of Prospective Clinical Trial, “Role of Podocan and Wnt-Pathway Regulatory Molecules in Coronary Artery Disease”; the findings of which will soon be published.

Dr. Hutter specializes in noninvasive treatment of conditions such hypertension, coronary artery disease and cardiomyopathy, among others. He is accepting new patients at the Great Falls Clinic Heart Center, located at 3000 15th Ave South, Great Falls, MT 59405.
